The “Eater of Worlds” holds a significant role within the world of Path of Exile, being one of the Eldritch Horrors, a group of mysterious eldritch entities that players encounter as formidable adversaries. Defeating the Searing Exarch and Eater of worlds for the first time results in the drop of an Eldritch Voidstone, an item capable of being inserted into the Atlas to contribute to its augmentation and personalization.
Items featuring the Eater of Worlds implicit modifier are easily distinguishable by the presence of a distinct teal (blue) symbol on their header.
It’s noteworthy that items not influenced by Shaper, Elder, or Conquerors can acquire the Eater of Worlds implicit modifier by utilizing a selection of Eldritch Ichor currencies. Moreover, the Eater of Worlds implicit supplants any inherent implicit mod on the item, even including attributes such as the resistance modifier found on an Astral Plate.
To engage in a confrontation with the Eater of Worlds, players need to employ the Screaming Invitation within their map device. This invitation drops upon vanquishing The Infinite Hunger boss and completing the associated quest steps.
Upon successfully completing the quest tied to the Eater of Worlds, tradable versions of the Screaming Invitation can be obtained from the boss within the 28th T14+ Map influenced by the Eater of Worlds. This process can be repeated for every subsequent set of 28 maps.
The battle takes place within the “Absence of Symmetry and Harmony” arena.
For an intensified challenge, an Uber version of the Eater of Worlds encounter exists, facilitated by using four Devouring Fragments that drop from Catarina in the Ziggurat Nightmare map. This elevated battle transpires within an Area Level 85 environment, significantly amplifying the difficulty and intricacy of the fight. In the Uber variant, the Eater of Worlds’ abilities are enhanced, and additional mechanics are introduced, such as a transformed tentacle attack pattern, modified Tentacle Slams, amplified Doom Phase elements, and an augmented Lightning Beam tracking mechanism. Additionally, Sphere Slams exhibit a significantly larger area of effect, heightening the challenge.
