About the Monster Hunter Wilds Xu Wu Boost
Xu Wu wasn’t shown in any promotional material before Monster Hunter Wilds launched — players discovered it lurking in the Ruins of Wyveria, preying on Guardian monsters. It’s the ecological apex of the region, capable of dispatching even Guardian Rathalos and Guardian Doshaguma with ease.
The fight is disorienting by design. Xu Wu is incredibly fast, has deceptive range with its extending tentacles, and constantly jumps off-camera or vanishes into cracks. Its boneless body lets it slip through gaps and reappear from impossible angles. For gunners, its smaller body size makes it harder to hit compared to Nu Udra.
When enraged, white mist leaks from its head, obscuring visibility before it flattens its body and repositions around its prey. Its most dangerous attack involves turning itself inside-out and launching with its mouth exposed for massive spinning damage but this is also when it’s most vulnerable to being toppled.
What You Can Craft
Xu Wu materials create weapons and armor with the Protein Fiend skill, boosting attack after consuming food items. The weapons are all named after historical assassins and traitors, fitting its “Piercing Assassin” title.
Our boosters bring Ice weapons to exploit its primary weakness, keep Slinger Pods ready for grab escapes, and focus on severing all four back tentacles for maximum carves. When the mouth exposes, they capitalize with Focus Strikes to topple Xu Wu and stack damage. With our Xu Wu Boost, you skip the ninja octopus nightmare and go straight to crafting.
