The ring embodies this directly: Tyrant’s Grasp without the ring is a single hand. Tyrant’s Grasp with Hecaton Chasm is six hands erupting simultaneously in every direction — a mechanical translation of the mythological source into a skill that covers the entire surrounding area with a single activation.
The 100–120% damage increase applies to every hand independently — base Tyrant’s Grasp plus all 5 additional hands each deal 100–120% increased damage on every hit. In a dense group where all 6 hands each strike multiple enemies, the combined damage output of a single Hecaton Chasm Tyrant’s Grasp cast is substantially larger than the percentage alone suggests. Combined with Anathema of the Primes converting the skill to Wrath cost and enabling spammable rapid casts, the build delivers this full 6-hand amplified burst repeatedly throughout combat rather than as an occasional cooldown — which is the source of the clearing speed advantage the mtmmo guide identifies.
The pull component of all 6 hands also has a practical grouping benefit that amplifies subsequent damage. Each hand pulls enemies toward the Warlock’s position — with 6 hands pulling from all directions simultaneously, every enemy in the surrounding area is dragged toward the center of the cast simultaneously. This creates immediate enemy grouping on every Tyrant’s Grasp cast that benefits all subsequent area damage skills in the rotation.
