The Aberration is the Pinnacle Boss of the Expedition mechanic in Path of Exile 2 and one of the most demanding endgame encounters the game currently offers. Reaching it requires working through the full Grand Expedition questline — defeating Uhtred the Stardrinker to obtain Olroth’s Logbook, running that Logbook to face Olroth, and then taking the Shattered Triskelion he drops to the Verisium Anvil to craft The Triskelion Reforged. Only then can you access the Verisium Crater and face the boss itself. The fight itself is a two-phase encounter that resets to full HP at 75% health, adds mobility in Phase 2, and locks down the arena in spinning blade webs near the end. When defeated, The Aberration drops Venerable Starlit Ore and Revered Starlit Ore, which are runeforged at the Verisium Bench into exclusive unique items including The Unleashed and Eyes of the Runefather — some of the most valuable crafting-tied drops in the current league.

The Expedition progression moves through Uhtred to Olroth, and Olroth’s Shattered Triskelion drop is then reforged into The Triskelion Reforged at the Verisium Anvil before the boss area even becomes accessible. This means that players who want to farm The Aberration repeatedly need to either sustain a supply of Triskelion Reforged fragments or complete the Olroth fight before each Aberration attempt, which adds a meaningful bottleneck to the farming loop on top of the boss difficulty itself.
