Art of the Bone Weaver is a Necromancer-exclusive Set Charm collection introduced with the Lord of Hatred expansion, built entirely around Bone Skills and the Quintessence buff state. At two pieces, after spending 100 Essence on Bone Skills you gain Quintessence for 15 seconds — increasing your Critical Strike Chance by 10% and your Critical Strike Damage by 50%. The two-piece establishes Quintessence as the central resource-management target. Spending 100 Essence on Bone Skills is the trigger — not a fixed cooldown, not a time gate, but a threshold reached through active skill usage. For Bone Spear builds that already spend Essence rapidly by design, Quintessence activates almost continuously with no change to the rotation. For Bone Spirit builds where each cast is a significant Essence expenditure, a single activation can push the threshold immediately. The 10% Critical Strike Chance and 50% Critical Strike Damage bonuses during the 15-second window make Quintessence periods the most damaging windows of every fight.
The three-piece adds a defensive layer that makes Quintessence doubly rewarding. During the same 15-second window that boosts offensive output, 30% Damage Reduction also applies — turning the active Quintessence state into both the highest-damage and most survivable phase of the Necromancer’s combat cycle. Builds that maintain near-permanent Quintessence uptime through consistent Essence spending effectively run 30% Damage Reduction almost continuously.
The five-piece ties the loop together with the shard burst. Every time Quintessence activates — which can happen multiple times in a fight as the 100 Essence threshold is crossed repeatedly — 12 bone shards spray outward from the Necromancer, hitting all nearby enemies simultaneously. The dual function of generating 3 Essence per enemy hit and applying a 175% Bone Skill damage debuff means the shard burst is both a resource restoration tool and a damage amplifier in one instant. In dense packs the burst can fully refill the Essence pool on activation, enabling immediate re-spending toward the next Quintessence trigger and keeping the entire cycle in continuous motion throughout endgame content.
