INTRODUCTION
Hello everyone and welcome to another post for WoW Cataclysm Classic on our InstantCarry blog. The long-anticipated Hour of Twilight 4.4.2 Patch for Cataclysm Classic is now LIVE, introducing thrilling new dungeons, a challenging raid, a new game mode, new PvP Season and an updated Auction House system. This patch marks the final phase of the Cataclysm Classic expansion, giving players a chance to face off against the mighty Twilight’s Hammer, confront Deathwing’s forces, and unlock new legendary rewards.
Without further ado, lets jump into it!
New Dungeon: End Time
End Time is a 5-player Heroic dungeon that offers players a glimpse into the potential future of Azeroth if Deathwing’s assault is not stopped. In this dungeon, you must navigate a ruined and desolate future where only the strongest are able to survive the onslaught. Completing this dungeon rewards players with iLvl 378 gear, helping you prepare for the end of the world.
New Dungeon: Well of Eternity
The Well of Eternity dungeon takes players back 10,000 years in an attempt to retrieve the Dragon Soul, a critical artifact needed to stop Deathwing. This 5-player Heroic dungeon challenges you to navigate the perilous past while contending with powerful enemies. Well of Eternity also rewards iLvl 378 gear, equipping players for the trials ahead.
New Dungeon: Hour of Twilight
The Hour of Twilight dungeon is the final 5-player Heroic dungeon of the Cataclysm Classic expansion. Set in present-day Dragonblight, players must face the Twilight’s Hammer in a desperate attempt to escort Thrall and the Dragon Soul to Wyrmrest Temple, where the final battle against Deathwing will begin. Completing this dungeon rewards iLvl 378 gear, preparing players for the ultimate confrontation.
New Raid: Dragon Soul
Dragon Soul is the pinnacle raid of Cataclysm Classic where players assist Thrall and the Dragon Aspects in their final battle against Deathwing and the Black Dragonflight. Set in Wyrmrest Temple, the raid features 8 bosses and two difficulty modes: Normal and Heroic. Normal mode rewards iLvl 397 gear, while Heroic mode rewards iLvl 410 gear.
Cataclysm Classic Dragon Soul – Release Date
Dragon Soul is coming immediately after the release of the Hour of Twilight Patch 4.4.2. The raid will become available on Thursday, February 20 at 3:00 p.m. PST.
Elemental Rune Dungeons: Protocol Twilight
A new game mode, Protocol Twilight, is now available to players in most Cataclysm Classic Heroic dungeons. By interacting with the Mysterious Elemental Device near the dungeon entrance and selecting “Activate Protocol Twilight,” players can unlock a new level of challenge.
Will the Protocol Twilight be available for Zul’Aman and Zul’Gurub?
This mode is not available in Zul’Aman or Zul’Gurub, but adds a layer of complexity to other heroic dungeons.
New Baradin Hold Boss: Alizabal
A new boss, Alizabal, will be available in Baradin Hold. Alizabal offers the chance to drop iLvl 397 and 403 gear, and players can raid both the 10-player and 25-player versions of this boss on separate lockouts, allowing them to run both versions in the same week.
When will Alizabal be up in Baradin Hold – Cataclysm Classic?
Alizabal will become available in Baradin Hold starting February 25, 2025 with each region’s weekly content reset.
New Legendary Item: Fangs of the Father
The Fangs of the Father are a new set of Legendary daggers available exclusively to Rogues. This pair of iLvl 416 daggers are obtained by completing a complex and challenging questline that involves reconnaissance, infiltration, and assassination across Azeroth. These daggers grow in power as the player progresses through the questline, eventually granting an increase to Agility and the ability to unleash dark wings, which boost damage and eliminate combo point costs for finishing moves for a limited time. Additionally, players will gain the ability to slow their fall using the wings, adding a unique and dramatic flair to their gameplay.
Developers’ notes: To accelerate the acquisition of this Legendary Item, the questline and the rate of obtaining Fangs of the Father have been sped up compared to the original Cataclysm content. Rogues can complete the questline faster, and there’s no need to leave the Dragon Soul raid to collect Elementium Gem Clusters.
Final PvP Season in Cataclysm Classic – Season 11: Cataclysmic Season
In Cataclysm Classic, “Season 11” marks the eleventh arena season in the Cataclysm expansion. This season introduces a fresh set of PvP gear, the “Cataclysmic Gladiator” sets, which players can earn through arena matches once patch 4.3 is released. Widely regarded as one of the most balanced and enjoyable PvP experiences in the Cataclysm expansion, Season 11 stands out for its well-designed class balance and gear system.
Key points about Season 11:
- Gear: Players can earn exclusive “Cataclysmic Gladiator” armor sets, with different tiers available based on arena ratings.
- Patch Association: This season launches with the release of patch 4.4.2

Updated Auction House
The Auction House has undergone significant changes, making it easier for players to buy and sell items more efficiently:
- Commodities (stackable items) will no longer be sold in individual stacks. Players will now select the number of items they wish to buy, and the Auction House will automatically find the lowest-priced auctions for that quantity.
- Players can now see the unit price and total price before making their purchase.
- When selling commodity items, players will set a price per unit, giving buyers the flexibility to choose how many items they want to purchase.
- Non-stackable items will be grouped in their own categories for easier browsing.
- The UI has been reorganized for a more intuitive browsing and purchasing experience.
Important note: Items will continue to be realm-specific, and players can set their own prices when listing items, rather than relying on default price recommendations.
Token Updates
Players who previously held a subscription but are no longer paying for one can now log in to the character select screen to use or buy WoW Tokens for game time. If they have enough gold across their characters, they can purchase a Token and use it at the character select screen.
