Diablo 4 Season 4

INTRODUCTION

Hello everyone and welcome to our newest Diablo IV blog post. This time around we will talk about Diablo 4 Season 4 in the hopes of discovering what awaits and what is new for the franchise. Diablo 4’s Season 4 is on the horizon, promising significant updates across PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms for the beloved dungeon crawler.

Since its launch in June 2023, Diablo 4 has treated players to three seasons packed with fresh narratives, gameplay features, loot, and thrilling adventures.

Following the launch of Season 3 in January 2024, fans have been eagerly anticipating what Season 4 will bring. Blizzard has teased a plethora of enhancements, including revamped loot systems, new dungeons to explore, formidable bosses to conquer, and various quality-of-life improvements. With such promises on the horizon, players are brimming with excitement for what lies ahead in the ever-evolving world of Diablo 4.

We’ve seen malignant creatures, vampires, and even constructs come in recent months and past seasons, but this time around something new awaits. Without further ado, let us see what’s in store and what we know so far!

Diablo 4 Season 4 Release Date

Diablo 4’s Season 4, originally scheduled to kick off on April 16, has been postponed to May 14. This delay comes as Blizzard aims to incorporate player feedback gathered from the April Public Test Realm (PTR) into the upcoming season. Adam Fletcher, the Community Lead, emphasized the importance of ensuring that the new system changes are well-received and beneficial for the community.

As a result of the delay, Season 3, known as the “Season of the Construct,” has been extended by a full month, allowing players more time to engage with its content. This extension means that Season 3 will have lasted approximately four months since its launch on January 23.

Traditionally, Diablo 4’s seasons follow a three-month cycle. With Season 4 now set to commence on May 14, it is anticipated to conclude around mid-August, paving the way for Season 5 to begin. Players can expect the new season to start at around 10 a.m. PT and 1 p.m. ET on the specified date.

Diablo 4 Season 4 PTR Explained

Diablo 4’s Public Test Realm (PTR) is exclusively available for PC players via Battle.net and is not accessible for console players. The PTR will have servers located in Diablo 4’s major player regions, including North America, Europe, Korea, Japan, South America, and Australia.

Running from April 2 to April 9, the PTR provides an opportunity for players to preview the updates and features slated for Season 4, scheduled for release in May. While players can test Season 4 content during this period, the primary purpose of the PTR is to gather feedback and data to help Blizzard refine and improve the upcoming changes. Blizzard will have over a month to implement any necessary adjustments based on PTR feedback before Season 4’s official launch on May 14.

Accessing the PTR is straightforward for PC players. They can select the option to download the PTR from a drop-down menu located above the “Play” button on the Battle.net launcher during the PTR’s seven-day duration.

Once in the PTR, players can take advantage of features like character boosting to higher levels and testing of new endgame content. This can be initiated by interacting with the “PTR boost” NPC at Kyovashad, which provides a boost to level 100, 100 million gold, 1000 Obols, and a selection of high-level gear and items.

Diablo 4 Season 4 Upcoming Changes

The upcoming changes to Diablo 4’s loot and affixes system represent a significant overhaul, prioritizing quality over quantity. Affixes on items will be streamlined, with a reduction in their number to focus on more potent ones. Legendary items will hold up to three affixes, while rare items will have two.

Introducing Tempering Manuals as a new item drop from defeated enemies will add versatility. These manuals contain several affixes that can be applied to items at a blacksmith. However, only one affix will be randomly applied, with the option to re-roll for a different one.

The Masterworking system will enable players to further upgrade their items, enhancing affixes by up to 12 ranks in the late game.

Helltide events will undergo a revamp, featuring a Threat meter that increases as players defeat progressively challenging monsters. Reaching the third tier will mark players as Hell-Marked, pitting them against a frenzy of tough enemies.

The new endgame content includes the Pit of Artificers, where players can discover rare varieties of ore suitable for crafting exceptionally crafted armor using secret Horadric techniques. Upon completing a priority quest in World Tier IV, players unlock this challenge, allowing them to earn Masterworking materials across numerous difficulty levels to enhance their items further.

These updates are accompanied by various quality-of-life improvements detailed in the full patch notes. Additionally, the upcoming season will bring new storylines and quests for players to explore.

CONCLUSION

This is about it when it comes to Diablo 4 Season 4. We are yet to see what else is new, but they are working on fixing the mess they made in previous seasons and trying to revive the game and get it hopefully to at least 50% of what it was back on its release day in terms of playerbase.
