INTRODUCTION

Path of Exile 2: Free Weekend is coming and Grinding Gear Games is giving players an incredible opportunity to experience Path of Exile 2 in celebration of the release of The Third Edict expansion on Friday, August 29, 2025. For the first time ever, PoE 2 will have a Free Weekend, allowing players on PC (Standalone, Steam, Epic), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 to dive into the dark world of Wraeclast without cost.

This event not only opens access to the full Early Access game and the brand-new Third Edict content update but also rewards players with exclusive cosmetics for participating. In addition, The Third Edict introduces a massive Act Four, three mini-interludes, the Abyssal League, new crafting systems, support gem upgrades, and many more endgame features.

Free Weekend Details

Start & End Times

  • Start: August 29, 2025 – 1PM PDT (10:00 PM GMT+2 local time)

  • End: September 1, 2025 – 1PM PDT (10:00 PM GMT+2 local time)

During this period, you’ll have unrestricted access to the entire Path of Exile 2 Early Access content, including The Third Edict expansion. Progression is unlimited, and all characters, loot, and achievements earned during the event will remain permanently tied to your account.

Path of Exile 2: Free Weekend Rewards

All new and existing players who log in during the Free Weekend can earn exclusive cosmetics:

  • Exile’s Hood – Obtainable in the Clearfell Encampment.

  • Exile’s Staff Skin – Earned by defeating the Rotten Druid in Grim Tangle (Act One).

  • Exile’s Cloak – Acquired after killing Count Geonor at the end of Act One.

These items are permanent and will remain on your account after the event.
