Season of Discovery New Raid: Scarlet Enclave Step-by-Step Guide

INTRODUCTION
Hello everyone and welcome to another InstantCarry blog post. In this post we will cover the Season of Discovery Phase 8 Scarlet Enclave Raid and How to overcome it. The Scarlet Enclave raid guide for Season of Discovery Phase 8! In this step-by-step guide, we’ll take you through each phase of the raid, providing details on the bosses, mechanics, and strategies to make your journey through the Scarlet Enclave a success. Let’s dive in!
Step 1: Entering the Raid
To begin your adventure in the Scarlet Enclave, head to the Scarlet Base Camp in Southeast Eastern Plaguelands, west of the entrance to Tyr’s Hand. The raid is accessed via the cave instance portal located above the Scarlet Base Camp.
Once inside, you’ll encounter a flight master, which is similar to the teleportation system used in Molten Core. This will allow you to quickly travel between checkpoints that are unlocked as you progress through the raid.
Tip: When you jump down from the hill, aim for the hay pile to avoid taking fall damage.
Step 2: Clearing Trash and Preparing for the First Boss
Before you can enter the Scarlet Cathedral to face the first boss, you will need to clear the trash mobs in the area. These mobs are a mix of Scarlet Praetorians, Scarlet Paladins, Scarlet Clerics, and Scarlet Knights, each with their own dangerous mechanics:
Scarlet Praetorians:
Whirlwind: Avoid their whirlwind attack, which has a blue outline that indicates its range (around 15 yards). Simply move out of range to avoid taking damage.
Scarlet Paladins:
Consecrate: These enemies will cast a red Consecrate on the ground. This is a massive AoE damage-over-time attack that must be avoided.
Scarlet Clerics:
Holy Radiance: A spell cast by the Scarlet Clerics that deals massive AoE damage. The spell has a 2-second cast time. Interrupt this spell to prevent wipes.
Scarlet Knights:
These Paladins have aura abilities:
Retribution Aura deals significant Thorns damage to melee players.
Devotion Aura grants +2490 spell resistance.
There are also mini-bosses (Captains) scattered throughout the area. While you don’t have to kill all of them to summon the first boss, you can choose to do so to reduce the number of enemies.
Step 3: Ring the Bell and Summon the First Boss
To progress, head to the Tyr’s Hand Abbey and ring the bell at the top. This will unlock the Scarlet Cathedral and summon Captain Karnwield in front of the entrance. Captain Karnwield has no special mechanics, just a lot of health, so focus on burning him down as quickly as possible.
After Captain Karnwield is defeated, enter the Scarlet Cathedral to face the first boss.
Step 4: Boss 1 – Balnazzar
Balnazzar is a challenging boss with multiple mechanics that require coordination and positioning. His encounter is split into three phases:
Phase 1 Mechanics:
Screeching Terror Adds: These adds periodically spawn and cast an AoE fear around them. Interrupt the fears to avoid wiping the raid.
Carrion Swarm: Balnazzar will occasionally cast Carrion Swarm on players within 15-20 yards. Anyone infected with this will damage players around them. Make sure players infected with Carrion Swarm spread out to avoid stacking damage.
Prey on the Weak: This is a permanent aura affecting all players. It causes any player who is not within 6 yards of another player to be attacked by mirror images of Balnazzar. This forces players to stay clumped together to avoid taking additional damage.
Phase 2 (Air Phase):
Suppression Darkness: Balnazzar will fly up into the air at 70% health and begin silencing everyone in the raid with an aura called Suppressing Darkness. To counteract this, four Scarlet Lightbearers will spawn around the fountain and channel Light’s Hope, creating holy zones that grant immunity to the silence.
Positioning: During this phase, ranged players and healers should position themselves in the holy zones, while the main tank should stay in the eastern holy zone. The tank(s) should focus on keeping the adds under control, ensuring they don’t enrage by staying outside of the holy zones.
Carrion Swarm still affects everyone during this phase, so make sure to manage the spread of infected players.
Phase 3:
Infernals will spawn during Phase 3 and will need to be held near the boss for the melee to stack up and deal damage to them. Casters should stay in the holy zones until the adds are cleared, then move to the Infernals.
Enrage Mechanic: At 30%, 25%, and 20% health, Balnazzar will forcefully reduce the number of Lightbearers by one at each health threshold. Casters should make sure to move to a new Lightbearer to continue casting.
Once Balnazzar reaches 5% health, he will die, and the raid can move forward.
Step 5: Progressing to Boss 2 – Beatrix
After Balnazzar’s defeat, the raid moves towards the next area, which is north of New Avalon. The next boss is Beatrix, and she presents a challenging encounter that revolves around managing adds and avoiding mechanics.
Phase 1:
Add Waves: Before Beatrix becomes active, you will need to hold out against waves of enemies. Focus on adds and avoid the mechanics as you continue to fight through the waves. The enemies that spawn are:
Scarlet Infantry (led by Shield Warden Stein)
Scarlet Cavalry (led by Knight-Captain Fratley)
Scarlet Mages (led by Arcanist Hilda)
Scarlet Artillery (led by Cannon Mistress Lind)
Scarlet Archers (led by Bowmaster Puck)
Scarlet Priests (led by Cardinal Stiltz)
Special Mechanic Calls: Each leader will call for a special mechanic similar to BWL Nefarian class calls. You will need to manage the following mechanics based on which leader is involved:
Cardinal Stiltz: Casts Confession, a chain lightning effect that scales damage based on the distance between players.
Bowmaster Puck: Casts a raid-wide DoT with low damage that can be easily healed.
Shield Warden Stein: Summons Scarlet Infantry to form lines. Players must avoid being hit by the infantry by moving to gaps between them.
Arcanist Hilda: Summons a giant meteor that must be soaked by players within the meteor’s impact zone. Anyone outside of the impact zone will die instantly.
Knight-Captain Fratley: Summons Scarlet Cavalry, which charge at players. Players must dodge or risk being knocked back.
Cannon Mistress Lind: Calls for artillery bombardment, where players must avoid red swirls on the ground to avoid heavy damage.
Phase 2:
Beatrix herself will become active in Phase 2, which involves tank-and-spank mechanics. However, the real challenge comes from dealing with fresh adds and avoiding the mechanics.
Charge: Beatrix will charge at players, knocking them back.
Unwavering Blade: A debuff applied to the tank, increasing damage taken. Ensure proper tank swapping and use defensive cooldowns as needed.
Stock Break: A heavy hit that will deal 95% of a player’s health. Keep the raid topped off and ready to heal quickly.
Rose’s Thorn: Applies a bleed to a player, which can be removed by healing them to full.
Step 6: Boss 3 – Solistrasza
Next up is Solistrasza, a relatively straightforward boss compared to previous encounters but still offers unique mechanics:
Fire Debuff: Some players will receive a fire debuff during the fight. These players must run to the side-walls with the debuff, as Solistrasza will cast fire breath on those with the debuff. If they are in the middle of the raid, they will take significant damage.
Adds: After a few fire debuff phases, adds will spawn. Pick off the adds one by one, similar to the Algalon fight in Ulduar.
Priest Assistance: Having Priests with Barriers can make this fight much easier, especially when dealing with the fire mechanics.
From this point on the Bosses won’t be in order, but simply depending on the route you choose to take.
Step 7: Boss 4 – Beastlord and His Pet Bear
Overview: The Beastlord and his pet Bear fight is reminiscent of Bloodboil from Black Temple, featuring a dual-tank setup and a combination of raid-wide damage mechanics. You will need two groups of players and two tanks to handle this fight effectively. The key to success is to properly manage mechanics and avoid certain deadly abilities.
Key Mechanics:
Bloodboil Mechanic: The group must stay in stacks of five players to avoid the Bloodboil effect. If players are not in these groups, the mechanic will trigger randomly, causing damage to the raid. Keep your positioning tight!
Wild Fissure: The Bear will periodically cast Wild Fissure, an AoE that deals significant damage. Players must stay away from the Bear to avoid taking damage from this attack.
Immolation Traps: The Beastlord will place Immolation Traps on the ground. Players must avoid stepping into these traps, as they will cause raid-wide fire damage. If multiple players are caught, it can cause significant issues for the raid.
Strategy:
Tank Swapping: Ensure you have two tanks ready for swapping as the fight progresses. One tank should handle the Beastlord, while the second tank manages the Bear and the additional adds.
Positioning: Make sure the raid is positioned in groups of five, avoiding the Bloodboil mechanic. Place the Bear away from the raid to avoid the Wild Fissure and Immolation Traps.
DPS Focus: Burn down the Beastlord quickly while handling the adds. Keep the raid topped off as there will be a lot of raid-wide damage from both the Bear and the Immolation Traps.
Step 8: Boss 5 – Mason the Dogmaster
Overview: Mason the Dogmaster is a water-based boss encounter with a mechanic that requires players to use cannons while avoiding additional fire and oil mechanics. This fight includes both movement and coordination, with a focus on handling his environmental hazards.
Key Mechanics:
Water Bubble Mechanic: Every 25%, Mason will enter a Water Bubble phase, making him immune to damage. During this phase, players need to use their rocket boots to go to a boat located nearby. Players will find cannonballs below deck. Use these to shoot Mason while he is in the Water Bubble to break the bubble and resume the fight.
Oil Mechanic: Mason will use an oil mechanic during the fight. Players must kite Mason away from oil pools to avoid being hit by the cannonfire, which can cause a lot of damage.
Strategy:
Kiting and Rocket Boots: When Mason uses the Water Bubble, send 2-3 players with rocket boots to the boat to destroy his Water Bubble with cannonballs. This mechanic requires good communication and timing.
Avoid Oil: While kiting Mason, ensure that no players are in the oil pools, as it significantly complicates the encounter by amplifying cannon damage.
DPS: Outside of the mechanics, simply focus on DPSing Mason down quickly, using any cooldowns during the Water Bubble phase to maximize damage.
Step 9: Boss 6 – The Reborn Council
Overview: The Reborn Council fight is one of the more frustrating encounters in the raid. The room is small, causing severe movement restrictions, and the camera angles can make positioning difficult. This fight is a multi-boss encounter, with three bosses present at once and each having their own abilities.
Key Mechanics:
Small Room, Large Problems: The fight takes place in an incredibly small room, which severely limits player movement. Falling hammers, tornadoes, and Whirlwind abilities all make positioning tough.
Lava Floor: The floor fills with lava, forcing players to stay on the second tier. Failing to do so will result in instant death.
Enrage Timer: The fight has a DPS check, and the Council will enrage if not killed quickly enough.
Strategy:
Focus Fire: Since you will have to fight all three bosses simultaneously, focus fire on one boss at a time to prevent endless revives. Keep an eye on the shared health pools to avoid prolonging the fight unnecessarily.
Positioning: Stay on the second tier at all times and make sure you avoid the falling hammers and tornadoes. Have players positioned away from each other to avoid Whirlwind mechanics.
Interrupting Spells: Since there are multiple bosses casting various spells, interrupt key abilities, especially if they deal raid-wide damage.

Step 10: Boss 7 – Lillian Voss – Scarlet Zealot (Pre-Undead Era)
Overview: Lillian Voss is a tragic figure in World of Warcraft lore, and in the Season of Discovery, players face her before her undead transformation. In this encounter, she showcases her stealth abilities and martial prowess as a living Scarlet fanatic.

Step 11: Boss 8 – Calderan – Wielder of the Corrupted Ashbringer
Overview: Calderan, a Naxxramas alum, returns as a raid boss wielding the Corrupted Ashbringer, one of the most iconic weapons in WoW lore. This fight ties into the larger Ashbringer questline and promises to be a dramatic encounter.
Key Mechanics:
