Season of Discovery Phase 6 PTR Delayed Until November 15

INTRODUCTION
Hello everyone and welcome to another InstantCarry blog post. The highly anticipated Season of Discovery Phase 6 Public Test Realm (PTR) was originally slated for November 8 but has faced unexpected delays. Initially pushed to November 12, Blizzard recently announced an additional delay, with the PTR now set to go live on Friday, November 15.
Key Dates for Upcoming Content
- November 12: Scepter of the Shifting Sands questline opens with regional resets, initiating the path toward Ahn’Qiraj.
- November 21: Ahn’Qiraj War Effort begins globally at 1:00 pm PST.
- November 29: War Effort concludes.
- December 4: The war heralding the arrival of the Anubisath and Qiraji warriors commences.
- December 6: Temple of Ahn’Qiraj, Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj, and Nightmare Grove officially open.
Questline and War Effort Preparation
To enter Ahn’Qiraj, players must first embark on the Scepter of the Shifting Sands questline. Beginning on November 12, this questline provides essential preparation for the challenges ahead, with the War Effort launching shortly after. Both the Horde and the Alliance can contribute valuable resources to aid in the campaign, turning in supplies for rewards that bolster faction reputation and prepare for the larger battles to come.
Joining the Battle Against the Old God
Once the War Effort reaches completion, the 48-hour countdown begins for opening the Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj (a 10+ player raid) and Temple of Ahn’Qiraj (a 20+ player raid). Heroes will be tasked with confronting C’Thun’s wicked servants and eventually the Old God himself. Victory in these trials demands strategic coordination and teamwork, with opportunities for gold, reputation, and rare loot.
Enhanced Raid Rewards with the “Descent into Madness” System
In the Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj and Temple of Ahn’Qiraj raids, players can opt for additional challenges with the new “Descent into Madness” system. This feature offers extra loot chests for those willing to brave increased difficulty. Raid groups can either claim rewards after each boss or push forward for potentially greater rewards. Checkpoints ensure that groups receive some bonus loot, even if they face setbacks along the way.
