Initially scheduled for mid-September 2024, the MMORPG’s release has been pushed back to October 1. Throne and Liberty Release Date

Originally set for mid-September 2024, Throne and Liberty will now launch globally on October 1, 2024. The delay follows feedback from the open beta, with NCSoft and Amazon Games working together to fine-tune the experience.

What is Throne and Liberty?

Throne and Liberty is a free-to-play MMORPG, available on PC and next-gen PlayStation and Xbox consoles. Developed by NCSoft, the game first launched in South Korea in December 2023, followed by an Asian release in July 2024. Amazon Games will publish the Western version, which is now delayed by a couple of weeks.

Throne and Liberty English Version Delayed

The delay stems from NCSoft needing more time to incorporate feedback from the game’s open beta, which took place from July 18 to July 24. The team is focusing on improving key systems, including combat, leveling, and guild mechanics. As a result, the early access period has also been postponed to September 26.

New Features Coming to Throne and Liberty

Despite the delay, there’s good news. NCSoft is adding new features that weren’t available in the open beta, many of which debuted in the South Korean version. These include new skill specializations, allowing for more in-depth combat customization. A fishing minigame and cooking mechanics are also set to be introduced, providing players with more ways to engage with the game world. The cooking system will offer recipes for attack, defense, utility, and life effects, adding another layer of strategy.

Additionally, players will be able to send their pets on Amitoi expeditions, allowing them to complete missions independently. This system incentivizes regular logins, keeping players engaged even when they’re away from the game.

Early Access and Pricing

Throne and Liberty will be free to play, but players can purchase early access packs starting at $29.99. These packs offer the chance to start playing five days early and come with exclusive items like weapons, outfits, Morphs, titles, and currency.

Ever since Throne and Liberty was released for South Korea back in December of 2023, we were told that the global release via Amazon Games won’t be far behind. However, as things turned out, it wasn’t the case. Even after the announcement that TL will go live on September 17th, still delays and issues moved it towards October.
