TBC Classic Anniversary Roadmap (2026) – Phases, Release Dates & Full Content Schedule

INTRODUCTION

World of Warcraft Classic quietly entered a new era in November 2024 with the launch of the 20th Anniversary realms. These servers were never meant to be static. They were built as living progression realms designed to move forward through WoW’s greatest eras — and now, in 2026, they reach their most important milestone: The Burning Crusade.

Unlike previous rereleases, TBC Classic Anniversary is a carefully curated long-term progression project. Blizzard is modernizing backend systems while preserving the authentic pacing, gearing, and social structure that defined early expansion gameplay. Phased raid unlocks, PvP balance enforcement, profession upgrades, and economy protections all ensure that this is the most stable and fair Classic expansion to date.

This guide covers the full TBC Classic Anniversary roadmap, including server structure, phase releases, PvP rules, and endgame progression.

The Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary Release Schedule

The Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary officially launches on February 5th, 2026. This is when players step through the Dark Portal and begin leveling in Outland.

However, the expansion experience begins earlier with a dedicated Pre-Patch launching on January 13th, 2026, introducing new races, professions, class changes, and accelerated leveling systems.

The first raid tier opens on February 19th, 2026, giving players time to level, prepare professions, and organize guild progression before raids unlock.

TBC Classic Anniversary Server Structure

Blizzard is evolving the original 20th Anniversary realms launched in November 2024 instead of opening new ones. This preserves community identity, guild progression, and server economies.

TBC Classic Anniversary Realm List

RegionRealmType
EUSpineshatterPvP
EUThunderstrikePvE
NANightslayerPvP
NADreamscythePvE
AU/NAMaladathPvP

Hardcore realms Doomhowl (NA) and Soulseeker (EU) remain Vanilla-only, though characters can transfer to PvE realms to continue into TBC.

PvP Balance & GDKP Restrictions

Faction balance enforcement will actively prevent population domination by either faction on PvP realms. Character creation will temporarily lock for the larger faction if imbalance occurs.

Additionally, GDKP raids are prohibited on NA and EU Anniversary realms, protecting progression integrity and preventing gold-based raid access.

Pre-Patch Phase – January 13th, 2026

The Pre-Patch introduces:

  • Blood Elves and Draenei

  • Silvermoon City and The Exodar

  • Jewelcrafting profession

  • Faster leveling from 20–60

  • Reduced mount costs and improved accessibility

  • Profession preparation up to 300 skill

This phase allows players to fully prepare alts, professions, and gold before Outland opens.

Phase 1 – Outland & Tier 4 Raids

Launch: February 5th, 2026
Raids Open: February 19th, 2026

Phase 1 includes Outland leveling (60–70), Heroic dungeons, attunement questlines, and the first raid tier:

  • Karazhan

  • Gruul’s Lair

  • Magtheridon

Early progression focuses on dungeon gearing, reputation grinds, and attunement completion.

Phase 2 – Serpentshrine Cavern & Tempest Keep

Phase 2 expands the endgame with two major raids featuring long attunement chains and major power scaling upgrades that reshape raid composition and class balance.

Phase 3 – Mount Hyjal & Black Temple

This phase lowers Heroic dungeon reputation requirements and introduces two iconic raids. It marks the moment when TBC enters full maturity and raid accessibility dramatically expands.

Phase 4 – Zul’Aman

Zul’Aman serves as a catch-up raid and alt progression hub, featuring speed-run mechanics and highly replayable reward systems.

Phase 5 – Sunwell Plateau & Isle of Quel’Danas

The final phase introduces:

  • Sunwell Plateau

  • Isle of Quel’Danas daily hub

  • Magisters’ Terrace dungeon

This phase concludes the expansion with the hardest raid tier and a full open-world progression campaign.

CONCLUSION

TBC Classic Anniversary is Blizzard’s most refined Classic expansion experience. With faction balance enforcement, economy protections, and a carefully paced roadmap, it offers the most stable and fair long-term Classic progression environment ever released.

This is not just a rerun of The Burning Crusade.

It is Classic — evolved.
