Ebonpiercer is a Unique Amulet built exclusively for Necromancers running Blight as their primary skill. Its core effect is straightforward: every Blight cast also fires 4 smaller piercing projectiles, each dealing 40–50% of Blight’s defiled area damage. Those extra projectiles pierce through enemies rather than stopping on contact, which means a well-aimed cast spreads damage across multiple targets in a line, significantly increasing overall output in dense packs. The amulet also adds ranks directly to Blight, Reaper’s Pursuit, and Gloom, giving it a supporting stat package that deepens Shadow Blight synergy rather than just adding damage from the Unique effect alone. Ebonpiercer can be target farmed from Grigoire and also drops from Nightmare Dungeons, World Events, and general open-world loot. What Is the Chaos Version of Ebonpiercer?
Chaos items are a special variant of Unique items introduced in Season 10. They always appear in a different gear slot than the standard version — so where regular Ebonpiercer is an Amulet, the Chaos version could appear as a Helmet, Chest, Ring, or another slot entirely. This matters because it frees up the Amulet slot for a different Unique, opening up build combinations that would otherwise require choosing between two items competing for the same slot.
Every Chaos item comes guaranteed with at least one Greater Affix and rolls its Unique effect at maximum value plus a 20% bonus on top, making the Chaos version stronger than the standard drop by default. You cannot equip both the regular and Chaos version of the same item at the same time.
Chaos Ebonpiercer can drop from Chaos Rifts, which appear during Helltides and inside Nightmare Dungeons, as well as from Mythic Chaos Rifts, Infernal Hordes, and the Bartuc encounter. If you want to select a specific gear slot for your Chaos Ebonpiercer, use the “Select Desired Chaos Item Slot” dropdown on the right side of the order page.
Ebonpiercer Mechanics Explained
Ebonpiercer’s value comes entirely from what it does to Blight as a skill. Blight on its own drops a pool that deals damage in an area and lingers, which is strong but single-target in its initial cast. The 4 extra piercing projectiles change this by sending additional damage vectors out from the same cast point, each one passing through enemies it contacts rather than stopping. In a tight group of enemies, all 4 projectiles can hit multiple targets as they travel, stacking damage across several enemies simultaneously from a single Blight cast.
The fact that each projectile deals a percentage of Blight’s defiled area damage rather than a flat number means the extra projectiles scale directly with your overall Blight damage investment. The more damage your Blight already deals, the more each of the 4 extra projectiles contributes. This makes Ebonpiercer most effective in builds that are already stacking Blight damage through Aspects, Paragon, and skill investment, since the extra projectiles amplify whatever your Blight baseline already is.
The supporting affixes — extra ranks to Blight, Reaper’s Pursuit, and Gloom — all reinforce the same Shadow and Blight identity, making this a purpose-built item for that specific build direction rather than a general Necromancer upgrade.
