Might of the Ursine is one of the most powerful per-stat-scaling items in Diablo 4 Season 13 because it converts a single character attribute — Maximum Resolve stacks — into a multiplicative damage modifier that grows without a hard cap beyond your stack count. Unlike most damage bonuses that are fixed values, Might of the Ursine scales as high as your Maximum Resolve investment allows, rewarding dedicated Temper optimization with compounding returns that significantly exceed what flat damage bonus rings can provide.
The Resolve system adds a meaningful tension to Werebear gameplay. Each stack provides both Armor and Might of the Ursine’s damage bonus, but each direct hit consumes one stack — creating an incentive to position and dodge effectively to maintain high stack counts rather than standing still and trading hits. Builds that incorporate Earthen Bulwark and Damage Reduction through Aspect of Glynn’s Anvil can sustain high Resolve counts even in melee-range combat, while more glass cannon configurations accept some stack loss in exchange for lower defensive investment elsewhere.
The automatic 1 stack per second generation while in Werebear form is significant for builds that maintain permanent or near-permanent shapeshifting. Rather than needing to cast specific skills to build stacks at the start of each encounter, Might of the Ursine Druid builds enter Werebear form and immediately begin passively ramping toward maximum stacks, reaching full damage output faster in back-to-back fights and during sustained boss encounters.
