Sanquivor, Blade of Zir Mechanics Explained
Sanquivor, Blade of Zir works by turning your normal minion upkeep into a resource pool for a single burst payoff. Every time your minions land an attack, the affected enemy is marked with Vampiric Curse, and separately, every Corpse you consume feeds a soul into that Curse’s stack, up to a cap of 20 souls. Those souls sit banked until you cast Army of the Dead, at which point they’re all released at once, with each soul unleashed adding to the Ultimate’s total damage output.
This means the sword rewards Necromancers who can generate and consume Corpses efficiently in the lead-up to their Army of the Dead cast, since a fuller soul stack directly translates into a bigger burst when it goes off. The inherent Skeleton Mage and Golem damage bonus and the chance for Army of the Dead to deal double damage stack on top of the soul-release bonus, meaning a well-timed cast with a full stack and a favorable double-damage roll can hit dramatically harder than a rushed cast with only a few souls banked. This is why Sanquivor, Blade of Zir is treated as a core weapon for Army of the Dead and minion-focused Necromancer builds pushing Nightmare Dungeons or high-difficulty boss content.
Why Buy Sanquivor, Blade of Zir
Farming Sanquivor, Blade of Zir yourself means repeated Lord Zir kills with no guaranteed timeline, since summoning and defeating him is one of the more demanding Torment boss fights in the game, and landing a strong secondary roll on top of a usable Greater Affix count can take considerably longer. Our delivery service skips that entirely — you pick your configuration, we trade the item directly to your character, and your minion build is ready to go the same day.
