Thrice-Woven Nightmare are a Warlock-exclusive Unique pair of Gloves in Diablo 4 built around Terror Swarm’s Devouring Swarm Variant. Terror Swarm automatically gains the Devouring Swarm Variant for free — without requiring a skill point — and deals 20–30% increased damage. The Devouring Swarm Variant causes Terror Swarm to start smaller and weaker than its base form but grow up to 3 times its initial size as it feeds on enemies — and upon reaching maximum size it splits off another smaller swarm, with up to 3 active swarms possible simultaneously. The inscription captures the gloves’ nature precisely: faint screams emanate from them, as if imbued with a hundred primal fears. The PC Gamer Warlock build guide describes the Devouring Swarm Terror Swarm as a self-sustaining AoE Ultimate that manages itself — cast it down, it chomps through enemies, grows larger, and splits into additional swarms with minimal player input. Note that a known bug at time of writing causes the growth and split mechanics to function inconsistently in some scenarios — Blizzard has acknowledged the issue and a fix is expected. The Devouring Swarm Variant represents a philosophical shift in how Terror Swarm functions as an Ultimate. Standard Terror Swarm is a deployed damage tool — cast, deal damage, expire. Devouring Swarm Terror Swarm is an entity — cast, feed, grow, split, multiply. The PC Gamer guide’s description of it as a self-managing AoE Ultimate that chomps through enemies and takes care of itself captures this identity: the Warlock casts it and the swarm operates autonomously, growing more powerful and more numerous throughout its duration without additional player input beyond the initial cast.
The synergy with Vulnerable Terror Swarm and Pull Terror Swarm — both described in the Mobalytics build as essential companions to Devouring Swarm — creates a self-contained damage loop where the swarm pulls enemies into its feeding range, makes them Vulnerable to take increased damage from Archfiend Skills, grows larger from the feeding, and eventually splits to repeat the process across the encounter area with up to 3 simultaneous swarms active.
