What Is the Ton Rune and Why Buy It
The Ton Rune is a Magic Rune of Invocation in Diablo 4, meaning it consumes Offering generated by a paired Rune of Ritual to trigger its effect — evoking the Sorcerer’s Meteor to deal damage to nearby enemies. Pair it with any Ritual Rune in a two-socket item — available on Chest pieces, Legs, Two-Handed weapons, and Helms — and it will fire whenever that Ritual Rune’s condition is met.
Ton is a strong area damage pick that brings Meteor damage to any class without requiring the Sorcerer skill tree. Many Runeword combinations also trigger additional Meteorites via the Overflow mechanic, increasing the damage output further depending on how frequently the trigger fires. It is also a required crafting ingredient for Harlequin Crest. If you need Ton Runes fast without the farming, InstantCarry delivers them directly to your character.
What Can You Craft With the Ton Rune
The Ton Rune is a required ingredient for crafting the Mythic Unique item Harlequin Crest. The recipe requires 1 Resplendent Spark, 10 Eom, 10 Lac, 10 Ton, and 5,000 Gold.
Ton Runewords
Ton is the Invocation Rune in every pairing below, so the effect is always the same: Evoke the Sorcerer’s Meteorites, dealing damage to enemies, requiring roughly 20–25 Offering to trigger (with Overflow increasing the number of Meteorites spawned). What changes between rows is only the Ritual Rune you pair it with — and therefore how quickly that Offering is generated.

How to Craft Runewords
Crafting a Runeword requires combining one Rune of Ritual and one Rune of Invocation in an item with two sockets. Eligible item slots include Chest pieces, Legs, Two-Handed weapons, and Helms. The Ritual Rune generates Offering when its condition is met, and the Invocation Rune spends that Offering to activate its effect.
