Unsung Ascetic’s Wraps is a Unique Gloves built exclusively for the Druid and the core item for any Lightning Storm build. Every time Lightning Storm grows, it gains one additional strike, and the entire skill deals 20–25% bonus damage on top of that. Since Lightning Storm naturally grows in strike count the longer it stays active, this glove compounds directly with the skill’s own scaling, pushing both the number of lightning strikes and their total damage output higher the longer a single cast runs. Because affixes are randomized in Lord of Hatred, secondary stats will vary by roll, but the Unique Effect is always fixed. Unsung Ascetic’s Wraps drops from Lord Zir and can also be found from The Beast in the Ice, Nightmare Dungeons, World Events, and general open-world loot.

Lightning Storm is built around a growth mechanic where the skill becomes more powerful the longer it remains active on the field, adding strikes over time as it ramps up. Unsung Ascetic’s Wraps directly accelerates this growth curve by adding one extra strike on top of whatever the skill would naturally gain at each growth interval. This means a fully ramped Lightning Storm hits noticeably more often than it would without the gloves, since every natural growth point is now doubled in terms of strike count added.
The 20–25% bonus damage applies on top of that increased strike frequency, meaning the gloves aren’t just adding more hits — each of those hits, along with the rest of Lightning Storm’s damage, is also dealt at a higher value. For a skill that already scales its output through sustained uptime, this combination of more strikes plus higher per-strike damage compounds significantly over the course of a single Lightning Storm cast that’s allowed to fully grow.
This is why the gloves are considered a near-mandatory item for Lightning Storm Druid builds in the current season. Builds that maximize Lightning Storm’s active uptime — through cooldown reduction, extended duration, or repeated recasting — get the most value from the gloves, since both the strike bonus and the damage bonus scale with how long and how often Lightning Storm is active during a fight.
