Understanding Echoing Hatred
Echoing Hatred is Diablo 4’s answer to the Echoing Nightmare from Diablo 3 — an infinite scaling survival mode that tests your build’s absolute limits. Unlike the Pit or Nightmare Dungeons where you face fixed difficulty, Echoing Hatred has no ceiling. Waves continue spawning with increasing intensity until your build simply can’t keep up. The Overwhelm bar tracks how many enemies are alive at once — let it fill and your run ends.
Each run is randomized with different enemy types and boss encounters, so you’ll need to adapt your strategy on the fly. Shrines spawn throughout the run, and timing their activation is crucial for pushing deeper. At higher tiers, multiple bosses can appear simultaneously, punishing builds that lack single-target damage. The mode rewards builds that can both melt packs instantly and handle boss health bars without stalling.
