About the Final Fantasy XIV Necron’s Embrace Extreme Boost
Necron’s Embrace Extreme features the primal Necron in a multi-phase encounter with some of Dawntrail’s most demanding mechanics. The fight requires precise positioning, mechanic memorization, and strong party coordination.
Phase One introduces Blue Shockwave (a tank buster requiring swaps or invulnerability), Fear of Death (purple puddles spawning arms that must be baited outward), Soul Reaping (stored AoE patterns that resolve later with Twofold or Fourfold Blight), and The End’s Embrace (individual AoEs that drop arm puddles). Phase Two shrinks the arena with Grand Cross, adding spinning laser orbs, tower soaks, and spread mechanics that must be executed while dodging rotating hazards.
The encounter also features Seasons of Blight, where the boss splits into light and dark sides with different safe zone capacities, requiring the party to split appropriately while handling stored mechanics from earlier phases.

Farming for the Wings of Death Mount
The Wings of Death is Patch 7.3’s signature mount reward, featuring massive ethereal wings composed of shadowy energy and starlight particles that match Necron’s cosmic horror aesthetic. This striking two-seater mount is inspired by Necron’s design from Final Fantasy IX, translated into FFXIV’s art style.
With a drop rate estimated between 2-5%, the Wings of Death is one of the rarer Extreme Trial mounts. Unlike previous expansion trials, the 99-totem safety net exchange won’t be available until Patch 7.4, meaning the only current acquisition method is farming until it drops directly.
