About the Monster Hunter Wilds Nerscylla Boost
Nerscylla is the stuff of nightmares for arachnophobic hunters. This spider-like Temnoceran hangs from ceilings, swings across the battlefield on webs, and can even dig beneath webbed floors to ambush you from below. Its nest in Area 4 of the Iceshard Cliffs is covered in sticky webs, and the monster uses this terrain to trap careless hunters.
The combination of Poison, Sleep, and Webbed status effects makes Nerscylla exhausting to fight unprepared. Getting caught in a web leaves you vulnerable to its stinger, which puts you to sleep and Nerscylla has a habit of observing sleeping hunters before delivering a devastating mandible strike as they wake up. Its Nerscylla Hatchlings also swarm during battle, dealing chip damage and overwhelming hunters who aren’t paying attention.
Our boosters bring the right resistances, break the Gypceros hide early to shift elemental weaknesses, and exploit the Focus Strike window after mandible attacks to knock Nerscylla down repeatedly.
What You Can Craft
Nerscylla materials create weapons and armor focused on status resistance. The armor set provides Water and Dragon resistance along with Bind Resistance and Poison Resistance making it useful for hunts against other status-heavy monsters like Pukei-Pukei and Balahara.
The Gypceros hide mechanic makes Nerscylla unique among Temnocerans. While the hide is intact, Fire weapons deal heavy damage but Thunder is resisted. Once the hide breaks, the weakness flips — Thunder becomes effective while Fire resistance increases. Our boosters adapt their strategy mid-hunt, ensuring efficient kills regardless of which phase the monster is in. With our Nerscylla Boost, you skip the web-covered nightmare and go straight to crafting.
