About the Path of Exile 2 Idol of Greust Service
The Idol of Greust is part of the Azmerian Wisps system in Path of Exile 2, dropping from Wisp-possessed monsters in level 65+ endgame areas. It is one of the few Idols with three distinct slot effects that each serve entirely different build archetypes — a defensive Armour conversion for Shield users, an Evasion-to-Deflection conversion for Buckler users, and an unusual Companion attrition damage mechanic for Sceptre users.
The Shield version addresses one of Armour’s limitations in PoE 2 — it normally only mitigates Physical Damage from hits. By applying 25% of the total Armour value as Elemental mitigation, the Shield effect rewards builds that already stack large amounts of Armour with passive Elemental Defence proportional to that investment. For builds with thousands of Armour, this can represent a meaningful reduction in Elemental Damage taken from hits without any additional Elemental Resistance investment. The Bonded Shield effect adds 12% increased Damage per Elemental Ailment type currently on the enemy stacking with Ignite, Freeze, Shock, or other Elemental Ailments simultaneously to create a damage multiplier for Ailment-applying builds.
The Buckler version converts Evasion into Deflection Rating at a 20% ratio, giving Evasion-stacking characters an additional mitigation stat that scales with their existing defensive investment. Deflection Rating reduces incoming hit damage similarly to Armour but through a separate calculation, making the two stats complementary for builds that stack both. The Bonded Buckler effect is identical to the Bonded Shield effect (12% increased Damage per Elemental Ailment type on the enemy) meaning both off-hand defensive item types reward Ailment-applying builds equally through the Bonded system.
The Sceptre version introduces a mechanic unique among Idols — Companion damage scaling with dead Companion types. Rather than rewarding Companion survival, it rewards Companion variety in a high-attrition scenario. Builds running three or four distinct Companion types where some die consistently can maintain a significant bonus to surviving Companion output, with each dead Companion type contributing a stacking 10% more damage multiplier. The Bonded Sceptre effect switches entirely to a recovery mechanic — 3% maximum Life recovered each time a Minion revives, which pairs naturally with builds running multiple Minions that die and revive frequently, converting Minion mortality into personal Life recovery.
Why Buy PoE 2 Idol of Greust
The Idol of Greust only drops from Azmeri Wisp-possessed monsters in level 65+ endgame areas with no specific or guaranteed farming method. It can also be sourced through the Currency Exchange, but availability depends on other players listing it. For high-Armour Shield builds looking for Elemental cross-mitigation, Evasion-stacking Buckler builds wanting Deflection Rating, or Companion builds that scale damage through Companion attrition, buying directly is the most reliable and time-efficient option.
