Olroth’s Saga is an Expedition Omen in Path of Exile 2’s Return of the Ancients expansion that guarantees an Olroth, Origin of the Fall encounter in the next ocean biome revealed when you use a Logbook with the Saga active in your inventory. About PoE 2 Olroth’s Saga
Olroth sits at the end of the four-boss Expedition faction chain for a reason — he is the gatekeeper to The Aberration, and every repeated attempt at the Pinnacle Boss requires going through him first. Unlike Medved, Vorana, and Uhtred, whose primary value is their Lineage Support Gem drops and Runeforging materials, Olroth’s most important drop is structural: the Shattered Triskelion is a guaranteed drop from every kill, and without it there is no Triskelion Reforged, and without the Triskelion Reforged there is no Aberration fight. This makes sustaining a supply of Olroth’s Saga the practical bottleneck for anyone farming The Aberration at volume.
The fight itself deals heavy Cold and Physical damage across a two-phase encounter that resets his health between phases. The arena features the Triskelion Flame — a rotating disc that moves around the perimeter and fires projectiles and beams throughout the fight, adding a constant arena-control layer on top of Olroth’s own attacks. His most dangerous moments come from the Triskelion Beam, which tracks your position for several seconds, and Starfall Boomerang, where he hurls his sword in an arc that returns to him with heavy Cold AoE on both passes. At higher difficulty tiers, Skeleton Adds join the fight with properties determined by the Remnant modifiers active in the Logbook leading up to the encounter, adding a variable difficulty layer that increases with the power of the Logbook’s modifiers.
His natural encounter rate of roughly 1-in-8 in level 79+ Logbooks means players who want to maintain a consistent Triskelion supply through normal farming need to burn through significant numbers of Logbooks per Triskelion obtained. Olroth’s Saga converts that ratio to 1-in-1, making every Logbook a guaranteed Olroth kill and every kill a guaranteed Shattered Triskelion.
