The Taming is a unique Prismatic Ring obtained through a secret crafting recipe in Path of Exile 2’s Runes of Aldur league, and is the defining item for any build centred around Wind Skills like Twister and Tornado. Getting it requires collecting all three Berek rings — Berek’s Pass, Berek’s Grip, and Berek’s Respite — then finding the hidden Kiln inside a secret chamber in the Azmerian Ranges and depositing all three rings together to craft The Taming.
The ring’s core mechanic transforms how Wind Skills interact with Elemental Ground Surfaces in two ways. First, Wind Skills that can be boosted by Elemental Ground Surfaces are treated as being boosted by Ignited, Shocked, and Chilled Ground simultaneously, regardless of what ground effects are actually present. Second, those Wind Skills can be boosted by multiple Elemental Ground Surface effects at once, something that is normally impossible. The result is that Wind Skills like Twister and Tornado receive all three elemental boost bonuses at the same time without requiring the player to set up or maintain those ground surfaces at all.
The ring also adds significant Elemental Resistances and 10–20% increased damage for each type of Elemental Ailment on an enemy, rewarding builds that apply multiple ailments simultaneously. The corrupted versions available through this service push the damage-per-ailment modifier beyond its normal maximum roll, reaching values that are otherwise unattainable through any normal roll.

The Taming Mechanics Explained
Elemental Ground Surfaces in Path of Exile 2 — Ignited, Shocked, and Chilled — each provide a different boost to Wind Skills that pass over them. Under normal circumstances, only one type of ground surface can boost a Wind Skill at a time, and setting up those surfaces reliably mid-combat requires maintaining specific ground effects in the area where the Wind Skill travels. The Taming removes both of those constraints simultaneously. Every Wind Skill is treated as though all three ground surface types are present and active, and all three boosts apply at once rather than just one.
For a skill like Twister, this means every single cast receives all three Elemental Ground boost effects regardless of the actual state of the ground beneath it. The practical damage increase from stacking all three simultaneously is substantial, and the fact that it requires no setup — no flame ground, no shocked ground, no chilled ground to maintain — makes the build significantly more consistent than any version that tries to achieve the same effect through actual ground surface application.
The 10–20% increased damage per type of Elemental Ailment on an enemy adds a separate damage layer for builds that can apply multiple ailments to targets. Applying Ignite, Shock, and Chill to the same enemy simultaneously provides up to three stacks of the modifier, which combined with the Wind Skill multipliers from the ring’s primary effect creates a compounding damage formula that Twister builds optimise heavily around. The corrupted versions extend this modifier beyond the normal 20% cap, making them the highest-damage Ring rolls available for this build archetype.
