Diablo 4 Season 2: Season of Blood Overview

Diablo 4 Season 2: Season of Blood

INTRODUCTION

Hello and welcome to our Diablo 4 Season 2: Season of Blood Overview. In this post we will talk about all of the changes that we know are coming and we’ll also talk a bit about what is going on in the game so far.

Diablo 4 was called the ‘game of the year’, and it was also praised by many top influencers and streamers as the ‘go to game’ for many months. Blizzard had a great idea, and in all honesty it did work out for the majority of the release and everything that came with it afterwards. However, the problem and the major issue that happened with Diablo 4 was the fact that there is no end-game.

Once we’ve reached level 100, defeated Echo of Lilith, whether on the Eternal or Seasonal realm, finalized our builds and gone through Nightmare Dungeons 90+, the gameplay is stale and did not offer anything but endless repetition. This has caused the Diablo 4 community to be outraged in a sense, and rightfully so. Most of us expected a lot more from World Bosses, a lot more end-game content and various different things that can be done, but so far, it’s lacking in that department.

Diablo 4 Season 2: Season of Blood Release Date

Thankfully, even though the game is at it’s low, it did show great potential and Blizzard has also shown that they actually want to listen and work towards what the community wants. This is probably why Diablo 4 Season 2: Season of Blood is on track so quickly. The next Season of Diablo IV is set to release on October 17th 2023.

We will do our best to cover all the things that we know are coming with the Season of Blood and we hope that you will find this post informative!

Without further ado, let’s check out what Diablo 4 Season 2: Season of Blood is introducing!

Diablo 4 Season 2: Season of Blood (Official Trailer)

Diablo 4: Season of Blood Storyline(so far)

The second Season of Diablo IV is bringing us Vampires. This much can be drawn as a conclusion just by watching the Trailer above. However, it also introduces us to Erys, a Vampire Hunter that has dedicated her life to stalking and executing these blood sucking leeches. She is voiced by the actress and producer Gemma Chan.

A newly emerged threat is coming to the Sanctuary and an army of newly turned Vampires is set on destroying and taking it over. Their master and his sinister plot remain a mystery, but their thirst for blood cannot be quenched. This naturally means that the innocents of the Sanctuary will need someone to save, and we will have to learn to hunt the hunters in order to do this!

Erys will need our help and the Storyline of the Season will revolve mostly around you having to do tasks and Quests to help her. Much more details will be shared by Blizzard as the release date approaches, but in this post we will focus on what we know so far.

What is coming with Diablo 4: Season of Blood?

Season of Blood will focus on sorting out some of the major issues that the game has had so far. If we are to believe Blizzard, they will be making some quality of life changes inside the game itself for both Eternal and Seasonal Realms, as well as add various new end-game content. Another thing they promised was that the Diablo 4 Season 1: Season of the Malignant is going to be the ‘worst’ in terms of end-game content and each Season afterwards will only get better and better and have more and more content for us once we’ve reached maximum level.
Diablo 4 Season 2: Season of Blood is bringing us the following:

  • A New Questline
  • 5 Endgame Bosses
  • Renown Updates
  • Status Effect Changes
  • Vampiric Powers
  • Quality of Life Changes

and more..

Endgame Bosses coming with Diablo 4 Season 2: Season of Blood

Diablo 4 Season 2: Season of Blood Endgame Bosses

Blizzard finally heard us, and that we’d actually love to fight some of the End-game bosses in more challenging modes. Getting quality Boss encounters tied with rewards is something that is the satisfying part of any RPG especially an MMO. They will also get us new bosses, and the one on the picture(above) is probably going to be the End-game Boss for Diablo 4: Season of Blood, hopefully he will be ‘Uberfied’ as well. Having 5 End-game Bosses with more challenging modes will definitely be the thing that(if done properly) will bring excitement and content to the game.

Another new thing to look out for is definitely the better target farming of Unique items and Uber Unique items.

Target Farming of Unique items in Diablo 4: Season of Blood

Finally! Lets give a standing ovation for this update. Every Season should give Players the ability of farming Unique items and being able to actually get some of the ones that are build changing, and not endlessly farming monsters that we don’t even know will drop or give us any upgrades. If we want to change a build, or want to change a Class entirely, we are hesitant to do so because we simply can’t know if we’ll get what is needed to actually make the Class viable.

With this update, we hopefully won’t have this problem anymore. What Blizzard is actually doing, is giving us the ability to get our Unique items and Uber Unique items by TARGET FARMING specific monsters that can drop them. From what we understood, this is how things will be with the Diablo 4 Season 2: Season of Blood. We are still to get confirmation on this, but any type of target farming of Unique or even UBER Unique items will be a welcome sight for any Player and a most definite quality of life change.

We do have to take this with a grain of salt, as obviously it’s Blizzard we’re talking about. However, we hope that this change will be implemented in the best possible way for Player experience and enjoyment.

Diablo 4 Season 2 Renown Updates

We are getting more Renown rewards! Even though the First Season showed us that Blizzard wants to give a small ‘head start’ to the Players that have gotten all of their Renown on their characters, it was still not something ground breaking. We still had to finish up on various things on all of our other Characters and it was too repetitive and grindy.

With the new Updates coming to Diablo 4 Season 2: Season of Blood, we will see Renown carry over from ANY prior Character that you have, and this includes:

  • Potion Charges
  • Skill Points
  • Obol Cap Increase
  • Paragon Skill Points

What this means is that there will be no more grinding Renown on each of your Characters and having to do things over and over again, but you will simply have to do it on 1 Character, regardless if it’s on an Eternal Realm or a Seasonal Realm and the Renown will carry over to any of your subsequent Characters!

This is a great quality of life change. Make sure that you always log your Character that has all of the Renown done, before logging a Seasonal Character. If we are to take our current knowledge into consideration, this had to be done for Season 1, so it will most likely be the same thing for Diablo 4 Season 2: Season of Blood.

Further changes are coming for Status Effects and QoL.

Status Effect Changes coming with Diablo 4: Season of Blood

Diablo 4 Season 2: Season of Blood Status effect changes

We are getting a few interesting changes when it comes to Status Effects. What we know from Diablo 4 so far, is that the main stat you want to have with any class is Vulnerable. In Season of the Malignant, this has been altered a bit by reducing the effectiveness of this stat, but still – it was the best and the Malignant Hearts bolstered things even more. Hopefully, with the Diablo 4 Season 2: Season of Blood, other stats will gain value and will be used in more occasions rather than everything being the same stat priority for each Class and build.

The Status Effect updates that will be implemented will be focused on:

  • Elemental Resistance System
  • Vulnerable Status updates
  • Overpower Status updates
  • Critical Strike Damage updates

If Vulnerable and Critical Strike changes work out as intended, they should hopefully be less dominating and less effective whereas others will be updated to be used more frequently in various builds. We are yet to see.

Quality of Life Changes coming to Diablo 4: Season of Blood

We are seeing some of the basic things being updated with the coming of Diablo 4 Season 2: Season of Blood. Those are:

  • Gems no longer take up inventory space
  • Stash can be searched and filtered

Some of the basic things that should’ve been done from the very start, but we guess that it wasn’t on their priority list.

Gems no longer take up inventory space

This is a great change, so many times we’ve found ourselves in a position where our Inventory was filled with Gems that were worthless because we just pick up everything that we see on the floor. Then you have to put things out to grab an item or something that you think you need etc.

With this change, this will be an issue of the past – Gems should get their own Inventory similar to Aspects and they will no longer be treated as regular items.

Stash can be searched and filtered

This is not some ‘yay finally’ moment. Not having this since the release of the game can certainly bring out many Question in what Blizzard was focusing on during the game development for so long. Not having a search for your Stash where everything is overflowing with Rare, Legendary and Unique items that we just don’t wanna let go of even though they are really bad, but we just like having them in our collection or for ‘some build’ that will never come.

If we want to find that one Legendary that we know has the Aspect we need – good luck, you’re gonna lose 30 minutes of your life just by sorting the Stash properly, or by trying to find if you’ve had 1-2% better roll on an Aspect that you wanted to extract. This is finally coming to an end with the most basic function that should’ve been implemented ages ago – “Search”.

CONCLUSION

This basically sums up the majority of what we know so far when it comes to Diablo 4 Season 2: Season of Blood. If we are to believe in what Blizzard is saying, there are many changes yet to come. We will definitely make a Diablo 4 Season 2: Season of Blood GUIDE once we have more information towards it’s release.

We do hope that this post shined some light on what you can expect, and to be quite honest – we do feel that these changes and updates will be really good for the game, and we hope that Blizzard can stay on track so that the game can be interesting and not as repetitive as it was so far.
