Spark Stormweaver is one of the most durable S-tier builds in Path of Exile 2 — holding its position through patch 0.4 and arriving in patch 0.5 with no meaningful nerfs to its core mechanics. Spark launches multiple lightning projectiles that ricochet across the battlefield, hitting enemies multiple times through Branching Bolts and extended duration, and clearing entire screens while maintaining solid single-target damage through its interaction with Stormweaver’s Ascendancy nodes and Archmage. About PoE 2 the Spark Stormweaver
Spark Stormweaver is built around a resource loop that makes mana investment directly profitable for damage output. Stormweaver’s Constant Gale grants permanent Arcane Surge — a buff that amplifies cast speed and mana regeneration continuously rather than as a triggered proc. Force of Will converts total mana into both offensive and defensive scaling simultaneously. Archmage then adds damage to spell hits based on mana spent — turning every mana investment across gear, passive tree, and Intelligence into a direct damage multiplier on every Spark cast. The loop is self-reinforcing: more mana means more Archmage damage, more Archmage damage means higher DPS, and higher mana regeneration from Constant Gale and Force of Will means more frequent casts sustaining the mana pool for further Archmage procs.
Spark is the ideal vehicle for this damage system because its ricocheting projectile behaviour makes the per-hit Archmage scaling accumulate rapidly. Each Spark projectile that bounces between enemies deals full hit damage with the full Archmage bonus on each individual hit — in dense map packs where projectiles are bouncing between clustered enemies multiple times, the total Archmage damage delivered per Spark cast compounds significantly above what a single-hit skill would achieve at the same mana investment.
The boss preparation rotation is specific and repeatable: drop Frost Bomb for cold exposure, place two Orb of Storms for infusion generation and shock application, cast Flame Wall, then fire Spark through it. The Flame Wall interaction adds fire damage to Spark projectiles that pass through it — feeding the Trinity resonance for elemental damage builds and adding a fire damage layer to what is primarily a lightning skill. This preparation sequence is the same across both the Spark Unleash league start variant and the Cast on Critical Comet endgame transition, keeping the bossing rotation consistent regardless of which build variant is active.
The Cast on Critical Comet transition is the endgame evolution that converts the build from pure Spark screen clear into a guaranteed crit engine that automatically fires Comet — a massive physical meteor — on every qualifying critical hit. The transition requires T10+ maps, 181 Spirit, and appropriate crit scaling gear before it becomes efficient. Attempting it earlier wastes currency and provides less value than continuing to develop the Spark Unleash version to a higher gear state first.
