The Ordained is a Unique Grand Spear in Path of Exile 2 that stacks three distinct power systems into a single weapon. The Life Leech extension to Lightning damage is the mechanic that makes this dual-type design self-reinforcing rather than merely additive. Life Leech in Path of Exile 2 normally recovers based on Physical damage dealt — the source that most melee weapons contribute. The Ordained adds Lightning damage to the leech calculation, meaning every hit that deals both Physical and Lightning simultaneously generates leech from both values. In sustained combat where a Spear build is landing repeated hits with significant Lightning flat damage from the weapon, the combined leech from both sources creates meaningfully stronger recovery than Physical leech alone would provide.
