Concerning Diablo 4 Season of the Construct, there’s a couple of things that we need to clear up from the get-go. On June 5th, 2023 the long awaited Diablo 4 came, and with it a lot of Questions about how will things change from the regular Diablo II/Diablo III setup. Not much has changed if we talk about the playstyle, it’s still a ‘Hack and Slash’ Game, but it has improved it’s MMO aspect and is now cross-platform, cross-play oriented and is available to anyone wanting to try it out.
Another thing to mention is that unlike it’s previous counterparts the graphics is on a totally different level and it’s definitely something worth checking out, if you haven’t already. As things currently stand, Diablo 4 Season 3 will be called Season of the Construct, and even though there’s still much we don’t know, there are many things that have been said directly or indirectly, so let us go over everything we know!
Diablo 4 Story so Far
Diablo IV stands as the fourth main installment in the renowned Diablo series, unveiling a gripping narrative centered around Lilith, the daughter of Mephisto, summoned into the world of Sanctuary. Initially revealed at BlizzCon 2019, the game saw its official release on June 6th, 2023.
Crafted to be inclusive for both newcomers and seasoned series veterans, Diablo IV places a substantial emphasis on its storyline, surpassing the narrative intricacies of its predecessors. The plot strives for a grounded feel, deviating from the high fantasy themes of previous titles, with inspiration drawn from characters like Wirt and Marius. The developers intentionally avoided the inclusion of kings and typical high fantasy tropes.
Rod Fergusson, a key figure in the game’s development, highlighted the deliberate divergence in the story and narrative of Diablo IV from its predecessors, namely Diablo II, Diablo Immortal, and Diablo III. This intentional distinction is driven by the active playerbases of these existing games.
In terms of character design, the inhabitants of Diablo IV are conceived to exist “in a very dark place” concerning their circumstances and personalities. Despite their challenging situations, the characters are portrayed as individuals striving to endure. The overarching storyline is crafted as a tragedy, placing a significant focus on the characters themselves rather than solely on the apocalyptic backdrop they navigate.
Diablo 4 Rise
Diablo IV has been long-awaited and it definitely rose through the charts in every possible way. Achieving remarkable financial success, raking in a staggering $666 million within its initial five days of release, establishing itself as the fastest-selling game in Blizzard’s storied history. By August 2023, the game boasted an impressive player base, with 12 million registered players actively engaging with the dark and expansive world of Sanctuary.
Despite the fact that it had it’s ups and downs and the weakest point was that it had no end-game. Outside of doing Nightmare Dungeons to the maximum level, and defeating the Echo of Lilith there was really not much that could’ve been done.
Diablo 4 Season 1 – “Bump in the Road”
However, despite its commercial triumph, Diablo IV faced a wave of criticism after the release of it’s First Season – The Season of the Malignant. The discontent among Players primarily stemmed from alterations made to the game. The key points of why the players were not satisfied with the First Season was the way Malignant Hearts changed the game as well as the fact that there was ‘nothing to do’ outside of just a repetitive set of activities like spamming the same Dungeons over and over and killing One Boss.
Diablo 4 Season 2 – “Making things Right”
In the currently active Diablo 4 Season 2 Season of Blood, Blizzard tried to make things right, and started expanding on the end-game content as well as listened to the community about many things. The main things that were an issue from Season 1 like having a Malignant Heart which you must have to play the game, was turned into specializing your character properly will enable you to play the game. The variety of Dungeons was increased and many new Bosses were added to the game in order to expand on the end-game further.
So far things are looking ‘better’, but they are still not as we expect them or want them to be. Hopefully the Diablo 4 Season 3 will continue to improve and bring the game to a point that we all want it to be.

Diablo 4 Season 3: Season of the Construct – Release Date
Diablo IV enthusiasts can anticipate the arrival of Season 3, slated to commence on January 23, as revealed on the game’s login screen. Although the Season’s title remains a mystery for now, the updated banner on the login screen formerly stating “Season of Blood Ends January 23, 2024” now reads “Season of the Construct January 23, 2024.” This suggests a swift transition between Seasons, with Season 3 on the horizon.
The announcement indicates a notably accelerated turnaround compared to the transition from Season 1 to Season 2 in the previous year. Unlike the prior Season 2, which was announced months before its October 17 release, Blizzard has not disclosed any official details, but we are expecting to hear more about it in the Developer Update Livestream on the 18th of January 9 A.M PST.
As of now, neither Blizzard nor official Diablo social channels have provided specific details about Season 3, except for the teaser on Twitter. Diablo 4 Season of the Construct – January 16th Updates
Blizzard has unveiled significant details about Diablo 4 Season 3, titled “Season of the Construct,” set to launch in a week. The season introduces a new theme and mechanics centered around mechanical constructs created by Diablo 3 character Zoltun Kulle. Players will ally with Kulle’s former companion, Ayuzhan, to combat the demon Malphas, who has seized control of the Loom—an ancient technology created by Kulle. The Gatehall, a new town center under Kehjistan, will serve as the base of operations against the demonic constructs.
The season introduces a Seneschal Companion, a mechanical ally upgradeable and customizable using Governing and Tuning Stones. Players can acquire these stones in Vaults, a new dungeon type, with Nightmare Vaults unlocking at World Tier 3. Pearls of Warding, obtained by destroying Elite Constructs during Arcane Tremor events in the overworld, can be used to customize Vaults, adjusting difficulty and rewards.
Quality of Life Changes – Season of the Construct
Season 3 also brings quality-of-life changes, including the highly anticipated WASD movement for PC players. Helltide Events will be consistently active, except for a brief five-minute break every hour. Leaderboards and The Gauntlet, a weekly rotating fixed dungeon with leaderboards, will be introduced. Additionally, players will receive an extra Stash Tab, a highly requested feature.
CONCLUSION
To conclude, we currently do not have much info outside of what we caught in the game itself, and the Twitter teaser which was made public recently. The idea of swapping Seasons must mean that they are doing their best to catch up with all the negativity around Diablo 4 since it’s release. If we are to judge by what we know so far, then it is definitely that the developers are doing their best to listen to the community and improve all the things that the game is lacking while still keeping what is good intact.
