Season of Discovery Phase 2: All Class Runes and How to get them!

SoD Runes Phase 2

INTRODUCTION

Hello and welcome to our SoD Class Runes post for Phase 2! In this post we will cover all of the Runes that were introduced in Phase 2 of Season of Discovery, as well as explain where and how you can obtain them and which effects, abilities or spells you will get by getting them!

If you wish to know more about the rest of Season of Discovery Runes that were introduced before Phase 2, then feel free to check our WoW Classic: Season of Discovery – All Phase 1 Runes for Every Class post!

As Phase 1 came to a close on February, 8th 2024, with it came Phase 2 which increased the Level Cap, Profession Skill and introduced us to new Rune Engraving capabilities on our belt and boots as well as the corresponding SoD Class Runes that are to fit in those slots. Aside from that we’ve seen a lot of QoL improvements, as well as the introduction of Class Skill Books and the Gnomeregan Raid.

If you wish to read more about those, you can check out Where to find all Class Skill Books Guide or the Gnomeregan Raid Guide!

What are Runes or Rune Engravings in SoD?

In WoW Classic’s Season of Discovery, Runes serve as items that are slotted into gear, granting passive effects or unlocking new spells or abilities for the character. They are exclusive to this particular season and are not available in other iterations of the game. Blizzard has implemented the rune system as a means to explore new class fantasies and to address balancing issues by empowering weaker specs. Furthermore, some runes offer effects that enable classes to fulfill entirely new roles, expanding gameplay possibilities. For instance, a Warlocks and Rogue can become a Tank, Mages can be Healers etc.

Each rune is designed for a specific gear slot. Phase 1 of the Season of Discovery introduced runes for the Chest, Hands, and Legs slots. Phase 2 expands upon this by introducing runes for the Waist and Feet slots. Additional runes for other equipment slots are slated to be introduced in subsequent phases of the season.

Note: The notable features of runes is their flexibility. They can be swapped out at any time, provided your character is not in combat. You can expect to receive your first rune through a Quest from your Class trainer at level 2. As the Season of Discovery progresses through further phases, additional runes will be introduced, that will change the gameplay experience and providing everyone with more options for customization and specialization.

All SoD Class Runes in Phase 2 – Officially Confirmed
